A member picks the days and sends a request with a reason. It waits in one list until you approve or decline it, so nothing depends on remembering a conversation.
Short notice can go through without you
If you turn auto-approve on, a request inside your notice window is approved on submit. Everything else still waits for you.
What it does not do
It does not move the jobs that person already had. Those stay on the schedule, marked with their name, so you decide who covers them. The calendar tells you the truth about the week; the decision stays yours.

Can a member cancel a request?
Yes, while it is still pending, and it leaves the list.
Do part days work?
Yes. A request carries a start and an end, and a full day is a single switch.
